Australian copyright council: Has a comprehensive website dedicated to providing current legislation regarding intellectual ownership of creative media such as photography, this area can be quite detailed and having guideline for reference is vital to working within parameters.

Contracts and Quoting

Through a comprehensive contract or agreement between the client and service provider it is vital to deliver the desired product being the works as per brief, having a legal binding contract stipulating client information, terms, dates, pricing and brief, signed by both parties is a great way to eliminate any misunderstandings that could result in suits or damage to your reputation. The NSW Police Media Policy states that police have no specific powers to stop the media from taking photographs of them or of crime scenes as long as the media stays outside of the crime scene itself and obeys all other laws. At this stage, other states do not have any corresponding policy.

It is a good idea to have any model or person sign a waiver if you are considering using an image in a publication or for advertising this may cover any misunderstanding on how an image can be used especially children.
